Ella started as the new Books to Prisoners Program Coordinator about a month ago! She has loved meeting everyone, and is looking forward to continuing these introductions! Come introduce yourself and share a book recommendation with her on any of our Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening sessions!

Ella has long had a pressing interest in the social effects of the prison system and mass incarceration. During her time at UW as an undergraduate she focused her studies on carceral systems and methods of harm reduction for those affected. As an avid reader, she understands the power of literature and knowledge and is interested in a career in librarianship. She first started volunteering at BTP in 2024 after searching for a meaningful way to engage with our incarcerated peers. She has loved curating packages for people and being involved in such a vibrant community of passionate individuals. She is very excited to take on the position of Program Coordinator, and has greatly enjoyed getting more involved in the entire process.
