Claire Dederer is a best-selling author. She’s also a volunteer at BtP. Town Hall Seattle and the Elliott Bay Book Company are sponsoring a discussion of her latest book at 7:30 pm, April 25. For every copy of “Monsters” sold at this event, Ms. Dederer will donate $5.00 to us.
This event will be in-person only at Town Hall Seattle, 1119 8th Ave. (8th and Pike), in downtown Seattle. Tickets are available on a sliding scale, $5-20. Visit https://townhallseattle.org/event/claire-dederer-monsters/ to learn more.
“Please join me for my BOOK LAUNCH at Town Hall Seattle! Monsters is meant to be a conversation with the reader, and we’ll start that conversation on the Town Hall stage, where I’ll be joined by Angela Garbes, author of Essential Labor, and Sonora Jha, author of The Laughter–two writers whose work I love. We’ll discuss our own relationships with monster-artists, who gets to decide what’s good art, and whether you need to be a bit of a monster to make art.
“I am also pleased to announce I will be donating $5 for every book sold at this event to Books to Prisoners, the Seattle organization that puts books in the hands of incarcerated people. I volunteer at BTP and it’s been a transformative experience for me.”
