(Prison) Banned Books Week

For two and a half centuries America has been a champion of freedom of speech. America also has a long history of literary restrictions. No more so than in the prison system. BTP believes in the right of people to read what they want to read. Our independent bookstore partners are part of an informal network dedicated to upholding free thought and free speech. Support incarcerated people and independent bookstores (and BTP) with a purchase for prisoners during Banned Books Week (Oct 4th-10th) or Prison Banned Books Week (Oct 19th-25th).
How it works:
You buy a book for BTP from a participating bookstore.
The book is given to BTP.
The participating bookstore totals the value of all the sales of books for BTP.
A family foundation will match the totaled sales dollar for dollar.
The foundation sends a check to each bookstore, creating credit accounts that allows BTP to buy more books.
Simple! And win-win.
