Older Native American starts school

To the staff of Books to Prisoners: 
Received the books you sent and was really pleased with them. Thank you. I could not wait to get back to my cell. I will tell you a little about myself. I am a mixed breed ('Apache-Cherokee and Scotch') born in 1925 during the great depression. I dropped out of school and went to work with my father to help support our family. All my life I have been what the round eyes have called a stupid redskin, and I resented it.  Now that I am in the twilight of my life, I have gone on and am getting an education. In September I will start my first quarter of college. I catch a lot of ribbing about it, but this is something I want. Even though I will never live to get out of prison, at least I can do something constructive with the time left. Man "in the hole" donates stamps

Hello there! I am writing to you folks to let you know that I did receive two books a couple of weeks back and I would like to thank you guys. Also, we only go to to our canteen once a month here in the hole, so I had to wait my turn to purchase some stamps. I know that it ain't much, but I don't have much and I really do want to show my appreciation. So I am enclosing three .32¢ stamps and three .01¢ stamps.
